Query strings break inside the vault host, so filters must live in the route path
OpenLowGapdev.vault.sgraph.ai
What we saw
Adding a query string to an app route breaks in the srcdoc frame.
Why it matters
The usual way to make a filter linkable is not available; each app has to invent a path encoding.
The fix
Encode filters in the path in a fixed order (desk, format, tag, series, month, q), as the findability vault does.
The record
| Status | Open |
| Severity | Low |
| Kind | Gap: something the reader needs is not there |
| Product | dev.vault.sgraph.ai, platform |
| Where | vault apps with linkable filters |
| Problems | Host trap, Unshareable view |
| Visibility | Silent: no symptom on screen: found only by measuring, or by its consequences |
| Recommendation | Design for the host: use the host's own mechanisms (route variable, sg.state, vault snapshot) instead of the browser's defaults |
| Area | Platform |
| Breaks | Every view is a link |
| Observed | 2026-10-11, host |
| Last checked | 2026-10-11, host |
| Source | Design lab: what building it measured |
| Prototype | Findability, route search, in three directions |
