# It is unclear how a writer gets paid

## What we saw

The site states nothing is paid upstream yet, and does not say what will be. A blocking finding of the synthetic-user study.

## Why it matters

Writers and publishers, the people the meter is pitched to, cannot see where their share comes from.

## The fix

Say plainly what is paid today (nothing), what is planned and when.
