## v0.4.1 · 2026-10-25

Voice input that can throw away your words: four findings on the Claude app's dictation controls, one thing it gets right, and two principles about lost work and silent systems.

- `data/findings.json`: UX-060 (X discards the recording without confirmation), UX-061 (three unlabelled controls), UX-062 (silent second-pass rewrite), UX-063 (live transcript stalls with no state shown), with a screenshot
- `data/exemplars.json`: EX-002, the live transcript as proof the recording is working
- `data/principles.json`: work is never lost to one tap or a silent failure; the reader can always tell what the system is doing
- `data/taxonomy.json`: problem "missing feedback"; recommendations "confirm or undo", "show the state", "show what changed"
- `data/site.json`: the Claude app product covers iPhone and iPad; new area: input and dictation
- `content/admin/index.md`: releases bump the patch number

## v0.4.0 · 2026-10-25

A security prompt that asks for a decision it does not explain: UX-059, and a principle for informed decisions.

- `data/findings.json`: UX-059, the Claude app's Bash permission prompt shows raw, truncated code and no plain-words summary, with a screenshot
- `data/principles.json`: new principle, a decision comes with what you need to make it
- `data/taxonomy.json`: problem "uninformed decision", recommendation "explain the decision"
- `data/site.json`: Claude app on iPhone added as a product (type: app); new area: security decisions

## v0.3.0 · 2026-10-18

What good looks like: exemplars join the register, starting with Safari on iPad, and a principle for interfaces that can be learned.

- `data/exemplars.json + /exemplars/`: EX-001, Safari on iPad collapses its toolbars after a small scroll at any speed; answers UX-057 and UX-058
- `data/principles.json`: new principle, the same gesture gives the same result, so it can be learned; UX-058 moved to it
- `data/site.json`: Safari on iPad added as a product
- Finding pages link the exemplars that answer them; principle sections link the exemplars that demonstrate them; the gate checks exemplars

## v0.2.1 · 2026-10-18

Hiding Firefox's toolbars on an iPad depends on the speed of the flick, so the reader cannot choose it; and three newsroom findings re-checked from a reader's screenshots.

- `data/findings.json`: UX-058 (toolbar state depends on gesture speed) with two screenshots in findings/img/; UX-057 points to it
- `data/findings.json`: UX-003 and UX-004 fixed, UX-028 partly fixed, each re-checked on newsroom v0.12.120
- `data/taxonomy.json`: new problem "unpredictable control" and recommendation "make it predictable"

## v0.2.0 · 2026-10-18

The register is indexed nine ways, and the first reports from readers arrive: two Firefox-on-iPad findings about a page that will not hold still.

- `data/taxonomy.json`: problem (24), visibility (4) and recommendation (17) vocabularies; every existing finding backfilled
- `data/site.json`: sites become products, with a type (site, platform, prototype, browser); Firefox on iPad added
- `data/findings.json`: UX-056 (scroll up focuses the address bar and opens the keyboard) and UX-057 (toolbars return on any scroll up), with screenshots in findings/img/
- `data/principles.json`: new principle, nothing moves that the reader did not move; UX-051 moved to it
- `content/browse/index.md`: every facet with counts, each value a link to the filtered list
- `admin/build/`: facets drive filters, finding pages, browse and llms.txt; the gate checks the taxonomy and evidence images

## v0.1.0 · 2026-10-18

The first release: a register of UX failures and gaps, seeded from the newsroom review, with the review, the design lab and the method it was made by.

- `data/findings.json`: 55 findings (newsroom.sgit.ai, the vault host, and the lab's own prototypes), each with evidence, impact, fix, status and the principle it breaks
- `data/principles.json`: 14 principles, each listing the findings that break it
- `content/reviews/newsroom-2026-10-11.md`: the newsroom UX review of 11 October 2026, published whole
- `content/lab/index.md + lab/shots/`: the Newsroom Design Lab, its four vaults with read keys, and 24 phone screenshots in three directions
- `content/method/index.md`: the reader path, the panel, severity, and how a finding is filed
- `admin/build/`: build.py, md.py and gate.py, stdlib only
